MS Repertoire – Iconic Slokams

MS set the stage for many compositions with a beautiful slokam.  These slokams were carefully selected with the help of Sanskrit scholars like R Ganapati and Dr. N Veezhinathan.

1) The slokam Sive Sringarardra   precedes the song Kanchadalayadakshi composed by Muthuswami Dikshithar in Ragam Kamala Manohari

2)The slokam Kara Charana precedes the song Sambo Mahadeva composed by Gopala Krishna Bharati in Ragam Bhouli.


3)Verses from Annapoornashtakam by Adi Shankara precede the song Jagadisha  composed by Svati Tirunaal in Ragam Nadanamakriya


4)Verses from Kanakadhara Stotram by Adi Shankara precede the song Hiranmayeem composed by Muthuswami Dikshithar in Ragam Lalitha


5)Verses from Anandalahari by Adi Shankara precede the song Ksheera Sagara composed by Mysore Maharaja Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar in Ragam Mayamalavagowla


6)The slokam Udyad Bhaanu Sahasra Koti Sadrshaam  precedes the song Mayamma composed by Shyama Sastri in Ragam Ahiri
